Martha is devastated when her partner Ash dies in an accident on the day they were planning to move in together. At Ash’s funeral, Martha’s friend tells her about a new service that allows people to communicate with their (deceased) loved ones. Martha is horrified and decides to stay at the cottage, despite her sister’s opinion that she is isolating herself. One day, Martha receives a message from Ash and realizes that Sarah has signed her up for the service. Initially, Martha is unhappy, but upon discovering that she is pregnant, she relents and soon begins communicating more and more with ‘Ash’. With her increasing comfort level talking to the synthetic Ash, it isn’t long before ‘he’ tells Martha about a ‘next level’ of communication - one that will truly bring them closer together.
